About the Wine:
Stonegarden 1858 Grenache from Springton, Eden Valley is amade up of 95% Grenache, 3% Mataro, and 2% Shiraz. The vineyard, established in 1858, sits at an elevation of 395m and benefits from unique granitic rock and sandy soils. Handpicked and aged in French oak, this wine offers flavours of cherry-cola, red liquorice, and subtle spices. With a vibrant acidity and a touch of floral perfume, it showcases a focused and elegant red-fruited core.
About the Producer:
In the 1840s, Brett Grocke's (Owner and Winemaker) forefathers planted vineyards near Jacob's Creek in Krondorf, Barossa Valley. As the 6th generation, Brett continue the family tradition of owning and farming vineyards.
Eperosa's motto is "wines built from the dirt up," reflecting their focus on organic and regenerative practices. They carefully manage the vineyards and fruit is handpicked and sorted. Their winemaking follows traditional methods, aiming to capture the vineyard's true character.
The grapes are foot stomped, fermented in small open containers, and aged in French oak barrels. Eperosa has always prioritised sustainability, with an eco-friendly winery design, solar power, rainwater harvesting, and low-impact practices.
